Brief Bio:

"Leo was a sports cartoonist for the Rochester Herald, the Rochester Times, The Globe and the New York Daily News. He was also the creator of a popular syndicated comic strip called Wedlock.

"While at the New York Daily News, he had two famous front page cartoons: Oct. 5, 1955 'Who's a Bum' when the Brooklyn Dodgers won the World Series in 7 game against the NY Yankees; and July 9, 1956 called 'Hello Golfers,' a drawing of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, to signal the opening day of the New York Daily News-sponsored Ike Golf Tournament. 

"Leo O'Mealia was also known for his work on early issues of Action Comics, Adventure Comics and Detective Comics in the late 1930's" (source).
